brad bolton > This is what you see from rte. 76 eastbound. What does it look like to you?
brad bolton > For years I've noticed an odd structure - you can see it from rte. 76 eastbound 2 miles east of the rte. 44 exit by Ravenna, Ohio. Look to the left on top of a hill - looks like an odd drive-in restaurant. Rode my bike out there to see if I could find out what it was. I found the driveway to the thing, and to a horse riding school, but a "no trespassing" sign turned me back. Luckily, a van pulled in - the driver told me that the structure is called "Vector Judy" by the FAA. Wow. How mysterious. She said it is an FAA control thing that routes aircraft around bad weather and other aircraft in the area, and a bit of research told me she is correct. I had to go over a locked gate and up a steep hill on a narrow path to get to it. The design intrigues me - up close, it still looks like a drive-in restaurant - for the Jetsons.
brad bolton > A closeup of the thing. The orange dome-things give the place a 1950's feel.
